The Stage 2 test, at a glance
- Two written papers — Maths and English, around 45–60 minutes each. No multiple choice: children write out full answers.
- Maths: multi-part problem solving across the KS2 range — arithmetic, fractions and percentages, algebra, geometry, measures. No calculator.
- English: an extended writing task — a story, letter, diary entry, article or speech — marked on imagination, vocabulary and accuracy.
- Stage 2 follows the SET first round, for Wilson's, Sutton Grammar, Wallington County Grammar, Nonsuch and Wallington High School for Girls.
